The University of Law is one of the longest-established specialist providers of legal education and business training in the UK, with campuses in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Guildford, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, and international campuses in Berlin and in Hong Kong.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

LEGAL PRACTICE COURSE

The LPC is the final vocational stage of training to become a qualified solicitor. You study the LPC after successful completion of a qualifying law degree, or other recognised qualifications. With our LPC you have the choice to study full-time, part-time or accelerated to best suit your personal needs. All routes are designed to offer you the best possible preparation to practice law. We focus on the skills that employers are most interested in so that you can enhance your academic knowledge while preparing for the realities of life in legal practice.

bar practice course

The Bar Practice Course (BPC), previously the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC), is the qualifying postgraduate course allowing graduates to prepare and practice as barristers in England and Wales. It is the vocational stage of training, which you’re required to pass before you can go on to complete the final, practical stage of training; pupillage. Give yourself the best chance to secure pupillage and prepare for life as a barrister with our high quality tutoring, designed and delivered by qualified practitioners with unparalleled experiences in delivering advocacy.

graduate diploma in law

The GDL is specially designed as the conversion course into legal study. It is one of the pathways into practice for non-law graduates. If you have completed an undergraduate in a non-law field and want to study law at a postgraduate level you’ll first need to complete this conversion course. With a modular structure, our GDL offers you a great chance to make the transition into legal study with excellent levels of support and guidance from our experienced, professional tutors.
